Join me this Winter in our frozen landscape!
Come explore the very best of North Carolina’s frozen High Country with Tommy White. Everybody always asks me, “what if it doesn’t snow!” We always hope for a good snow during the Workshop, but lets face it, snow storms just don’t happen on que. However, you can be assured of one thing… It will be cold. And where’s there cold, there’s Rime Ice and lots of frozen goodies for the person that knows where to look. Areas that we may visit include back access roads and trails to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Roan Mountain, Grandfather Mountain, Mt. Rogers and Pisgah National Forest
Overview
This workshop will explore the wintry world of golden sunrises, icy reflections, and frozen waterfalls. Rime ice is one of our favorites and we’ll spend the better part of a day near 6000 feet where rime ice thrives and turns a normal world into an icy winter wonderland. We’ll also dive into the frozen forest where golden rays spill through the forest long after sunrise. Afterwards, we’ll have a hearty breakfast at one of our favorite restaurants atop a mountainside. Following, we’ll likely dive deeper into the forest floor and look for frozen creeks and waterfalls. This will be one you won’t want to miss. While visiting these beautiful locations, we’ll explore advanced composition and how to “see” in the field identifying the important elements in your frame and how to construct and beautiful and meaningful composition.
I keep the enrollment limited to 6, so that i can spend time with you individually. Whether you need personalized attention or just like to find great places to shoot I’d love the opportunity to share it with you! In fact, I shoot with lots of folks that are simply looking to refine what they already know and work at their own pace. I encourage it and allow those guests the space to do so and I’m always around should questions or opportunities arise for new techniques. Part of my goal is to understand your art and where you are with it. I can always find some useful information you can add to your Workflow. If you’re just starting out, it’s no problem. As with anything, a good solid foundation is a great place to start.
