Welcome to a World of outdoor adventure and landscape photography — where adventure, creativity, and learning come together in some of the most beautiful locations nature has to offer. I have lived in the Boone area of Pisgah National Forest and the Blue Ridge for over 35 years, exploring and photographing the Southern Appalachians in their very best conditions. For the last 17 of those years, I have owned and operated Mountains to Sea Workshops. It was created as a fun and creative instrument for me to connect with like-minded people and share the photography knowledge during that time. Mountains to Sea Workshops has now grown into a full-time occupation offering Photography Workshops, Private Tours and landscape photography education all over the Country.

My goal is to help you create images that you’re truly passionate about. Having explored and photographed the Blue Ridge Mountains for decades, I know these mountains well and understand how the seasons shape and light the landscape. Whether it’s winter snow and ice, the vibrant blooms of spring, the lush beauty of summer, or the incredible colors of autumn, I know when and where to go to give you the best opportunity to capture something special.

No matter how you choose to learn—through a group workshop, private tour, or online training—you’ll find an experience built to help you grow as a photographer. My goal is to help you see the landscape with intention, understand light, improve your composition, and develop the skills needed to consistently create images that are technically sound, with emotion, depth, and impact. All while visiting amazing locations in the very best conditions.
