Overview
Join me on this Photo Tour for some of the most amazing Waterfalls and Wildflowers in the World!
In the adventure, we will be exploring some of the most majestic waterfalls in the entire World. Nestled deep in the Pacific Northwest, these temperate rainforests boast some of the most incredible scenery known to man. Moss dripping from trees, giant ferns and incredible fauna are part of what make this trip so special. The diversity of this lush landscape is what makes this destination sought after by photographers around the World. This magical place is the home to towering moss-covered waterfalls, fields of colorful flowers, lush foliage, and sweeping vistas.
Join us on this magical tour of the lesser-known waterfalls and fields of wildflowers of Washington and the Columbia River Gorge.
Overview:
In this Workshop, we will be visiting the most majestic waterfalls we can find, some you will recognize and others that are off the beaten path. We will show you how to capture water movement that swirls around these breathtaking formations so that your images have purpose, flow and structure. We dive deep in to compositional techniques using our visionary skills to find images within images. These close up shots pair up perfectly with the amazing grand landscape waterfalls we’ll be visiting. We’ll show you how to “see” compositionally and make sense of more complex scenes that will help you to create beautiful images out of chaos. The Columbia River Gorge and lower Washington Waterfalls are beyond amazing, but we’ll be also be visiting some truly majestic waterfalls in the famous Willamette National Forest. Home to eight Wilderness areas and some of the nicest waterfalls I have ever seen. I think you will agree that this will be some of the most awe inspiring days of the trip.
We’ll be walking among hidden valleys, temperate rainforests and moss so thick it makes a story all of its own.
As a little bonus, we’ve timed this workshop to take advantage of a little know bloom in the hills of the Columbia River Gorge. The flowers and fauna types are vast this time of the year and we’ll be taking a few trips to elevation and explore these beauties. Join us and we explore the hidden wonders of amazing Oregon!

About this Trip
Terrain
Hikes to waterfalls can be easy to difficult. The terrain is dirt, roots, and rock and can vary from easy to fairly steep. There are safe places to photograph the waterfalls and others for the more ambitious at heart. We recommend a high skill level anywhere near the water, and the utmost precaution as the waters can be deep and really moving.
Fitness
Average fitness level is great! Distances range from the car up to 2 miles one way. Some trails are rather easy and a few can be quite steep.
Group Size
6 people. We keep the group size small so that everyone gets plenty of shoot time at all locations without feeling rushed or smothered. Safety is a primary consideration also.
Experience
Aspiring - Advanced. As with most landscape photography, some effort must be put towards a primary location. Some trail experience and knowledge around high volume rivers is helpful.
