Itinerary:

Our day will start with a trip Northbound up the Blue Ridge Parkway for a Sunrise shoot at the incredible Doughton Park on the Mountains to Sea Trail. This little section is completely covered with all types of Wildflowers and you will do good to not step on any there are so many. A truly breathtaking place to take in a sunrise! Following Sunrise we will work on capturing some of the gorgeous flowers in the amazing golden side light. You can use a Macro lens or a midrange here. If you have a Zoom lens with close up capabilities, that works quite well here also. Afterwards, we will head on over to the Bluffs Restaurant for a nice Brunch. This is a fun and local restaurant on the Parkway with a lot of history. A great place to soak up the history. Then we will head back over for some more of the blooms, big views and the Mountains to Sea trail. There is a lot to photograph here, but one of my favorites in the late morning are the birds and butterfly so bring your big lenses! They will be everywhere in the flowers and irresistible. We will also explore some other fun techniques like ICM(intentional camera movement). A super fun and creative way to end our session up there.
